Learning Disabilities

Joycele Care provides specialist support to people with mild, moderate, severe and profound learning disabilities, with associated complex needs including physical disabilities (such as cerebral palsy), autism, mental health conditions, respiratory conditions, and neurological conditions such as epilepsy and dementia.

Many people take choosing where to live and who to live with for granted, yet it’s a fundamental part of feeling in control of your life. At Joycele Care, we support people with learning disabilities to live however and wherever they choose, often helping them move from residential care or family homes into their own place or a house shared with friends.

We can then provide support in a way that suits each individual, whether that’s round the clock, or by dropping in to help with shopping and cooking, or perhaps helping with the bills.

A learning disability is a neurological condition that affects the brain’s ability to send, receive and process information. This means that people with a learning disability may find it harder when it comes to daily life skills like reading, writing and caring for themselves. Everyone’s learning disabilities are unique. There are different types and severities of learning disabilities, which means that everyone will experience slightly different challenges.

Living with a learning disability should never mean living without choice. Everything we do is driven by you and your circle of support. We pride ourselves on creating tailored plans that evolve with people’s needs and enhance their quality of life.

We offer a range of different support for people living with learning disabilities that are designed to meet individual needs. This might help with maintaining independence or providing encouragement to achieve a particular goal. The level of support we provide is completely flexible – whether it’s just a few hours a week or 24-7, we adapt our plan for each person.

We work closely with the people we support to identify any opportunities to help them live more independently, safely and easily.

We go above and beyond expectations, with a positive approach and dynamic spirit. Through our ethos of person-centred care, we work to ensure that the support we provide is properly tailored to the individual, meaning that no matter what the learning disability, our specialists can help to improve the person’s ongoing wellbeing.
